Happy New Year! Welcome to this month's issue of Wingtat eNews! A new year has kicked off which means a new beginning and Wingtat is looking forward to better connect with members through our activities, eNews and events! For those of you who want to enjoy the same benefits as our Members, our Membership will start accepting new members in January. More information is stated below in this eNews.

Members will receive our Wingtat eNews on a regular basis informing them of our products, new recipes, newly joined merchant shops, and exclusive member's discount and benefits. In addition, they will receive invitations to our special events that Wingtat organizes and/or participates in.

Do you have any family members or friends who want to become a Wingtat Member? The Wingtat membership has existed for approximately 4 years now partnering with more than 75 different merchant partners and having an increasing family of 7500+ members! Every year we welcome more and more new members in joining our big family. On an annual basis, Wingtat will release a limited quantity of Membership Cards for registration. Registrations for new members will open on January 23rd, 2013.

How to Become a Wingtat Member:

Starting on January 23rd, 2013, interested individuals can visit our website, www.wingtat.ca and click on the Membership tab to apply for membership online or by mailing in the completed application form.  There will be a one-time registration fee of $25.  Occasionally, during certain promotions and/or special events, the membership fee will be waived or discounted.  However, we strongly recommend applying early as the numbers of Memberships available are limited!

For Members who currently hold old membership cards, please note that there is no charge for membership card renewals.

For Members who need to replace lost cards, there is a fee of $5 for membership card replacements.

Ming Pao “Gourmet Kitchen” cooking class was held on December 8th, 2012. This year Wingtat had sponsored Chicken Breasts for a cooking class that was hosted by Mr. Ben Lai whose specialty is in Italian cuisine with a touch of the west coast. Ben had prepared an Italian dish on the spot – Stuffed Chicken Breast with Vegetables in Cheese Sauce – to celebrate the holidays.

Ben notes that it doesn’t matter whether you are in the western or eastern part of the world, chicken will always be considered amongst main dishes. Most Chinese people however do not consider it as such due to the breast portion of the chicken being dry and tough.

In order to solve this misconception, Ben shared with us a little tip: “All we need is 2L of water mixed with half a cup of granulated sugar and half a cup of sea salt, marinate it with the chicken breast and leave it over night and it will result in the meat being extremely moist and tender.” The event was a great success and we thank Ben for coming in and sharing his expertise with us.

A single transaction over $25 (before tax) will be entitled to one lucky draw; over $50 will be entitled to two and so on.

Hotpot (evening hours):

A single transaction over $70 (before tax) will be entitled to one lucky draw; over $140 will be entitled to two and so on.
