On the eve of New Year, many families gather together around the dinner table, covered with bountiful of gourmet dishes to celebrate the coming of the new year. As it's not a feast without chicken, fresh chicken is a must on the menu. Chicken is known as graceful poultry for its nutritious value. The steamed chicken, coupled with bamboo pith and wolfberries are all very beneficial to our health. Bamboo pith can help cleanse our liver and clear toxins, while wolfberries are great for our kidney and eyes. The red vibrant color of wolfberries also symbolizes good luck and fortune. After pouring the broth onto the fresh, tasty chicken, sizzle with green onion and pea sprout to make this the dish that will be loved and enjoyed by everyone.

During Lunar New Year season, relatives and friends enjoy visiting each other to exchange greetings and blessings for a prosperous year. The host will also serve a variety of festive sweets and snacks. Sometimes, by the end of the festive season, we may feel bloated after days of happy eating! With this in mind, this dish prepared for the New Year is a lighter dish to enjoy with everyone. Using Wingtat Canada Chicken, though it is meaty, it has less fat. Place the chicken meat on top of the golden fried tofu, tie up with seaweed, sprinkle Hanakatsuo (dried bonito flakes) on top, and pour the homemade sauce to accompany the Golden Chicken Roll. Prepared with much thought and care, this delicious dish will be a hit during the New Year!
