To celebrate the festival, aside from the main entrees, having a warm and pleasant side dish will accompany the main dish. We recommend our easy to use, thinly sliced Wingtat Pork to make savory glutinous rice balls.
The glutinous rice balls are not only white in color; with the use of red beet, known as the “ The Ruby of Vegetable”, this recipe adds a festive touch with red glutinous rice balls too --great for the Autumn celebration! The red beet offers a natural red dye for food and also contains Betaine, which supports the digestion system and helps in decreasing cholesterol. Moreover, red beet helps increase the body’s blood supply and detoxify the body. In Ancient Europe, red beet has been used as a remedy to cure indigestion and blood circulation problems, demonstrating how beneficial red beet is to the human body.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is an important festival and celebration for many Asian families, with hopes to have the whole family sitting together around the table, enjoying the delicious dishes prepared by the cook. During this special occasion, having a main dish made with our juicy and tender Wingtat Canada Chicken is an excellent choice. Dried scallop is a valuable ingredient, great for enhancing the taste of dishes. Steaming it first will highly release its flavour. By mixing steamed glutinous rice and white wine together, the ingredients will undergo a process of fermentation, and results in sweet, fermented rice. With aroma from both wine and rice , it will surely increase one's appetite. It is especially useful for stimulating blood circulation and joint relaxation. The chicken stock is made by steaming the chicken, combined with the sweet fermented rice, Hua Diao wine, and dried scallops. The broth poured over the sliced Wingtat Canada Chicken creates a delightful dish for this festival.
