Good news! Wingtat recently launched their newest product "Wingtat Chinese Sausage" made from Wingtat Free range Chicken (Taiwanese Chicken). Everyone knows Chinese sausage tastes good and is easy to pair with other dishes. Yet, traditional sausages are higher in fat which brings up health concerns for Chinese sausage lovers. Are there other healthier options for them?
Wingtat’s Chinese Sausage with Chicken and Pork (Lean) is made from our signature chicken "Wingtat Taiwanese Chicken" - a lean chicken. Our sausage also uses the fine quality lean pork, which also contains less fat. Protein content will stay same as the conventional sausage. Wingtat Chinese Sausage is the healthier choice as it can be enjoyed with less fat and lower calories. It will also not taste as greasy as the regular sausages made with chicken and pork. In order to prepare the sausage to taste just as tender as the regular sausage’s texture, simply scald and then steam the sausage. Directions
- Wipe dry Taiwanese Chicken and slice. Scald Chinese sausages in boiling water, rinse, wipe dry and slice.
- Soak dried mushroom until tender, remove stem and slice. Soak red date, remove pits and slice.
- Marinate chicken, Chinese sausage, dried mushroom and red date for 15 minute.
- Make sure clay pot is dried and is oiled. Add water to cook rice. Before water fully evaporates, put the marinated ingredients and ginger strips into the clay pot. Cook on low heat for 15 minutes. Add scallion cubes and cook for a while, tasty clay pot rice is done.

 This month, Wingtat is sponsoring Ming Pao's “Gourmet Cooking Class". Pastry Chef, Jenn Ho, will teach the registered students to make exquisite Macarons, French mousse cake and many more French desserts on December 12th.
