When the weather turns cold, it is a good time to nourish the lungs. Our lungs are directly linked to the immune functions of our body; if our lungs are healthy, the chance of catching a cold/flu is lower and our bodies are more resistant to germs and viruses. According to Chinese herbalists, ‘white-colored’ food can rejuvenate our lungs, therefore dried chinese yam, pearl barley and astragalus root are all excellent soup ingredients. Pearl barley can also improve the skin tone. Radix Pseudostellariae (also known as “prince ginseng”) is also a very nutritional ingredient in replenishing our lungs. Silkie Chicken meat is relatively more nutritional than other chicken because it is made up of smaller molecules, making it to be easily absorbed by the stomach. This soup is a great additional to your autumn/winter recipe collection in maintaining the health of all your family members, young and old!

Chinese claypot (casserole) dishes are very popular during Autumn & Winter seasons. Using the meaty Wingtat Loong Kong chicken with ginger, shallot and garlic, then cook together in the pot is the best way to enhance the taste of the chicken. Pour in some wine and the fragrant of the dish fills up the whole kitchen. Lastly, add in scallion, cover and cook for 5 more minutes, and it’s ready to serve.

This salad is a healthy appetizer great for sharing. It is important to remember that fine ingredients create a memorable dish. Wingtat Loong Kong Chicken is generally meatier but still tender. The rich vitamin A contained in chicken is beneficial to our skin. Sweet potato is a good source of carbohydrate, rich in fibre and adds a natural sweetness to the salad. This salad served with calcium-rich nuts and sweet cranberries is festive appetizer for the holiday season, loved by both young and old.
