January 9th, 2015 News
Since our last update in our December enewsletter, a total of 11 commercial premises and 1 non-commercial were infected by the avian influenza in the month of December. The good news is, three weeks have gone by without a new farm being affected, presenting a possibility that the virus has been contained and controlled.

This month Wingtat will feature "Wingtat Free Run Chicken" and "Wingtat Canada Chicken" will be in February. Let’s collect Wingtat stickers, the more one buys, the more chances to WIN! WIN! WIN!!
In the first month of the lucky draw, Wingtat has successfully kick started the lucky draw event with over 20+ participating locations selling our feature product "Wingtat Loong Kong Chicken". A reminder that our Wingtat featured products (those that have a lucky draw sticker attached to the packaging) are only available for purchase at participating supermarkets and retail meat shops in British Columbia. (while supplies last; the products and quantities available at each participating store varies). Please note that the list of participating stores will be updated on a regular basis on our website.
Note: To avoid damaging the circular lucky draw label, It is recommended to cut out the sticker label instead of peeling off.
Wingtat Free Run Chickens are raised in farms with spacious, natural environments for chickens to freely move and run around. With more area to roam, the chickens receive more exercise and hence the chicken meat is leaner. The quality and appearance of the meat is also better because the spacious area decreases the chances of chickens from bumping into each other causing bruising. Our chickens are fed with natural multi-grain ingredients. Most importantly, their specially formulated feed is non-medicated and contains no hormones. They also have continuous access to clean water which is fresh and uncontaminated at all times. To further enhance the flavor and texture of our chickens, they are raised for a longer period of time than other species of chickens--over 150 days. Countless Wingtat Free Run Chicken's soup and entree recipes are shared on our Wingtat website, please click on the link to view the recipes: http://www.wingtat.ca/products/13?lang=1
