Wingtat Silkie Chicken is rich in vitamin E, containing 3 times more than other poultry. Vitamin E helps clear free radicals and protect islet cells. Silkie Chicken also has a high level of iron and can help new moms recover quicker by nourishing the body and increasing blood supply after giving birth. Sea cucumber is considered one of the eight treasures of the sea, high in protein and low in fat. It can help prevent skin aging and promotes healthy skin. Millet is easy to digest and has higher nutrients than white rice. It is an essential ingredient for recovery after giving birth, as it can improve blood circulation and help balance our mood. The effects are enhanced with the use of Silkie Chicken. Add some white and brown rice to make the congee smooth and tasty. The dried longan taste sweet, which helps improve the elasticity of blood vessels. Red dates help improve the spleen and nourish the blood. This bowl of congee is not only good for new moms, but also benefit moms of all ages!
To help your daughter or daughter-in-law to recover quicker after giving birth, the elders in the family cook assorted fried rice with chicken. If she is tired of eating the same fried chicken rice repeatedly, we recommend preparing beetroot chicken fried rice. The meat of Wingtat Loong Kong Chicken is thick and juicy with vitamins A, C and various other minerals. The beetroot, known as "the ruby of vegetables", contains natural betanin, which can help digestion, and nourish the liver and increase blood supply. Okra is also a healthy vegetable which can eliminate fatigue, restore physical strength, and maintain skin elasticity. Tender yellow corn has diuretic and hypoglycemic effects. These fresh ingredients, mix with garlic and fried eggs, create a nutritious and delicious serving of fried rice!
As a new mother, in addition to taking care of her newborn, she also needs to pay attention to her own health. Healthy soups are a must during this time of recovery period! The cordyceps militaris is a kind of fungi which will enhance physical strength; the more aroma that their spores emit, the better nutritional value they have. Codonopsis roots can nourish and rejuvenate our bodies, increase blood supply and hydrate our bodies, which fits perfectly to what new moms needfor speedy recovery after giving birth. Red date is one of the top grade ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine because it contains phytonutrients which improve the body‘s immune system. The combination of these three kinds of ingredients is essential for recovery after giving birth. Adding in Cornish Hen in the broth will not only offer a fresh and sweet taste to the soup with tender and delicious chicken meat, it also improves appetite for new moms to intake enough nutrition for their bodies to recover faster.

Kitchen Talk

AM1320 Over the past 20 years, Mrs. Chiu has shared countless recipes and her cooking passion and knowledge with the audience of [Kitchen Talk]. In April of this year, she decided that it is the appropriate time to retire from the radio program. As a long time supporter and sponsor of the radio program, Wingtat would like to sincerely thank Mrs. Chiu for her dedication in sharing her joy of cooking with all the listeners. Her recipes and use of ingredients are creative; always with a strong focus on health and simplicity. We appreciate her addressing all our questions during the live call-in sessions, week after week. Most of all, we are thankful for her genuine sharing of her cooking expertise, experience and recommendation in using Wingtat Products to create delicious dishes for family and friends to enjoy. We will miss hearing her voice every day; we look forward to opportunities of collaboration with her in the near future. Wingtat wishes Mrs.Chiu a happy, healthy and safe start to her retirement!

The following is some words from Mrs. Chiu to share with all her students, fans, audiences and Wingtat Members:

趙太 It was on May 1st, of 2000 that I joined AM1320 radio station to host "Kitchen Talk" radio program. On the 30th of last month, it has been exactly 20 years! When I first informed the radio station that it would be a very appropriate time to resign and retire after an amazing two decades, they suggested that I continue for another 10 years! Although I am touched by their sincerity, I declined as I feel it is truly the right time to close this chapter in my life and perhaps venture on another journey.

Back when I first started, I thought this was supposed to be an easy job; unaware then that I have such high expectations of perfection in my passion for cooking and for work. I ended up spending countless time and effort into the program. Fortunately, I am blessed that the majority of my audience enjoyed the radio program and it was soon followed by other mall demonstration performances, co-organized cooking competitions, and product endorsements. At the same time, I also had a full-time job as cooking instructor at Vancouver School Board. My tasks included trying out new dishes, designing the cooking courses and recipes, and discussing curriculum plans with my supervisor. I taught every evening from Monday to Thursday and Saturday. As the instructor, I also needed to prepare all the ingredients needed for every class, and each class was enrolled with 20+ students. Come to think of it, I only have one pair of hands!

At home, I am also a Mother. I’m fully responsible for the three meals a day for both young and old members in the household. My principles are simple: no canned food, no take out, and always having readily available homemade nutritious soup, snacks and pastries. Looking back, it really feels like I’m Super Woman! Upon reflection, everything feels like it only happened yesterday. For all the praises I’ve received during this journey, I dedicate everything to my God for He has given me the daily wisdom and strength to complete the life lessons presented to me. For this, I am truly thankful and grateful.
From Monday to Friday at 10:30 am, please stay tuned for Wingtat’s sponsored AM1320 Radio Program「Kitchen Talk」. Radio hosts will continue to share Mrs.Chiu's thoughtful recipes and how to make best use of Wingtat Products.

For months since the outbreak of COVID-19, healthcare workers in B.C. are working hard in an utmost effort to provide the urgent care needed to COVID patients and preventing the virus from spreading in the community. Being a part of the community, the public has offered their support and encouragement in many ways.

Wingtat partnered with M Café (Coquitlam), Parker Place Meat & BBQ (Richmond) and Mui Garden Restaurant (Victoria Dr., Vancouver) in support of「#chopstickstoheroes」and「Feed BC Frontliners」campaigns to provide meal boxes to healthcare teams around Greater Vancouver to give edible cheer and to show our gratitude for their ongoing fight against the virus.

In the month of April:
  • Wingtat & M Café prepared and donated 400 meal boxes to Royal Columbian Hospital
  • Parker Place Meat & BBQ prepared 160 meal boxes to Richmond Hospital

  • In the month of May:
  • Mui Garden Restaurant prepared 100 meal boxes to Vancouver General Hospital

  • Special thanks to the following two organizers and their volunteers for making it possible for us to provide meal boxes to healthcare workers in Greater Vancouver.
